While wireless cell sites are quite reliable and all have backup power, their networks can get overloaded preventing you from making or receiving calls. Even though your phone provides a "dial tone", you are not connected to the network until you actually complete entering the number you are calling. This overload is usually a temporary situation which may clear up shortly. Incoming calls that cannot reach your Wireless Home Phone are normally directed to Voice Mail which should eventually illuminate your voice mail message indicator. You are no longer depending on a single wireless phone, or if you have visitors or a baby sitter who may not have reliable service at your home.
In May 2018, Fido introduced Fido XTRA which provides customers with perks from various retailers every Thursday. As well as they were used to purchase travel packs as long as you had the full amount of fido dollars to do so. Prepaid customers would also use their FidoDOLLARS to purchase top-up credits. FidoDollars had no cash value and were non-transferable, except when transferring the responsibility of a number/contract from an account with only one line. Bandwidth cap, with discounts as part of bundles with Fido post-paid mobile services. Fido internet is available to markets in Ontario that are served by Rogers' internet.
Discontinued services
Most wireless home phone base units have an antenna connector which can accept a high-gain or outdoor cellular antenna, giving you a much stronger signal than a cell phone by itself. Fido customers will see "Fido" as the network name, and Rogers customers will see "ROGERS" as the network name. The original development of Fido was funded in part by Voicestream, now T-Mobile US. Fido was the first provider in Canada to offer a network with the GSM standard. Fido is a Canadian mobile network operator owned by Rogers Communications.
Home Internet
The home phone adapter is included, for free (a $125 value). Not compatible with services including but not limited to, wireless messaging and data services, fax service, medical alert systems, medical monitoring systems, credit card machines. IP/PBX Phone systems, or dial-up internet service.

Doesn_t say anything about the cancellation. Because it said to log in, I tried to log in but it said my number doesn_t exist.... So how am I supposed to download my invoice and make sure I won_t get any more. After they lied to me about the charge, I do not trust them. I wanted to make sure my services have been cancelled. As of November 2019, Fido' allows customers to pick a rate plan with different usage limits for talk, text and data. After which the user can choose a new device if interested as well as how much of the device cost they like to pay upfront. Device costs are spread out over a 2-year term.
